Drivetrain
The ArcticFox drivetrain has been thoughtfully bolstered to ensure exceptional functionality of all the components that make you go, stop and stay in control.
Snorkel

ArcticFox's snorkel is not just for water crossings. Of course the snorkel keeps the air intake above the water line during a water crossing, however, they serve a more practical day-to-day role. Snorkels feed cool clean air to the engine away from the right front wheel-well where the air is hot and dirty.
Drivetrain Breathers
When a hot differential, transmission or transfer case hits cold water during a water crossing, the gasses inside expand and exit the unit’s breather valve. After exhaling the host gasses, the breather valves, which are also under water, let in some water before they close off again. Water is extremely damaging, undermining the integrity of the lubricant the gears rely on to function.
ArcticFox is outfitted with breather extensions for the front and rear differentials, transmission and transfer case above the waterline. This ensures sustained reliability so your drivetrain does not let you down mid-travel.

Engine Perfomance & Economy

The Toyota FJ Cruiser 1GR-FE engine is a rock solid and super reliable 4.0 liter V6 making 260 horsepower. It will always deliver power that you need, when you need it. There is no reason to modify the engine and impact its reliability.

However, control over the engine's performance and economy is essential for an adventure vehicle.
The ArcticFox has been upgraded with an enhanced electronic throttle controller designed by the legendry Gail Banks of Banks power.
The Banks Throttle Controller provides granular control over the volume of fuel that is fed to the engine. Just set the power level to achieve the economy or performance your situation calls for with the push of a button on the i-dash controler or via the vehicle's control tablet.
Wheels
These wheels are not for show. The ArcticFox is outfitted with the best overland combination of tires, rims, Tire Pressure Management (TPM), and dynamic wheel balancing beads.
The tires are the venerable BF Goodrich KO2s. The rims, beadlock Rock Monsters from Hutchinson Industries, The same company that makes the wheels for military HumVee vehicles.
This is a formidable combination for one of the most critical aspects of an overland vehicle. This combination has been specifically selected to perform exceptionally in all driving conditions the vehicle is exposed to. This includes preventing hydroplaning when on the road, getting stuck, slipping or low pressure tire roll when offroad.
Furthermore, you change tires on the go with the tools included in the ArcticFox tool kit. No tire machine needed.

Habitation
Big Brakes

Weight management has been a key consideration from the design and development stage of the ArcticFox, however, a purpose-built vehicle like the Arctic-Fox is bound to weigh more than a typical SUV when loaded for adventure.
The platform boasts a specialized big brake system that delivers the performance enhancements a fully loaded adventure vehicle requires.
This includes:

-
Extra Large high performance slotted rotors (with over 1.5” extra braking surface)

-
Four piston big calipers paired with high performance EBC Yellow stuff padsExtra Large
-
Stainless steel brake lines all around
-
DOT 5.1 high temprature brake fluid
Upgraded End-Links
ArcticFox steering and sway bar end-links are upgraded to stronger and lighter components to withstand the rigors of adventure while enhancing all-around handling, espcially while off-road.
